I am currently based in Leeds, and in my final year on the BA (Hons) Fine Art course. It is not concepts that drive my practice more the act and process of making itself. I just make because I want to explore the materials i use and I choose these materials because I find their properties interesting and I want to see what I can do with them. What is at the forefront of the work visually is the delicacy and fragility of the works, yet my aim is also to make them tactile and beautiful. Textiles always manage to find its way into my practice, whether through the subtlety of stitch or the more obvious planes of lace and other fabrics. Colour is something that I very rarely decide or have control over, in most of my work colour has been dictated by the material.
